About the Author
Mishka Ben-David was born in 1952 in Israel. He holds an MA in comparative literature from the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in Hebrew literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Ben-David served in the Mossad for twelve years, becoming a high-ranking officer, and he is now a full-time novelist living outside Jerusalem.

This is one of the most powerful novels of its kind. Simply superb. Weaves an uneasy path through the competing moral judgements facing Mossad operatives.

Needs to emulate Le Carre rather than Oprah

Duet in Beirut was an entertaining novel but I was expecting better. Ben-David focused a little too much on the drama of inter-personal relationships for my taste. The one love triangle in particular seemed contrived.
I am hoping that his next novel gets on track and Ben-David learns a little from John Le Carre.

A Gripping Narrative

This book is a gripping narrative that at times keeps you on the edge of your seat. It offers insight into the life of an operative both in its psychological and operational aspects. While I was propelled to read on eagerly, at the same time I did not want it to end. Obviously the author knows what he is writing about. I will be awaiting upcoming translations of his other books and look forward to enjoying them as I did this spectacular achievement.
