Steamy and erotic, but there are also some wonderfully sweet moments

“Tamed by the Buccaneer” is the final story in Normandie Alleman’s Jolie Rouge trilogy. After reading the first two I was anxious to see how Gaston and Frederica’s story would end. The romance is still steamy and erotic, but there are also some wonderfully sweet moments between Gaston and Frederica that show just how much the two have grown as a couple. There is plenty of excitement in this short story, and even a plot twist that will keep readers guessing. The ending is wonderfully sweet, and I was happily surprised that Alleman kept certain secondary characters from the first two books such as Miles and Hatch. “Tamed by the Buccaneer” is a great ending an erotic pirate adventure.

Gaston and Frederica have overcome their fair share of danger, but as they continue to pirate Gaston is realizing that the danger may be becoming too great. He wants to return to his plantation in Carolina, but Frederica is not so sure she is ready to give up her life of adventure. But when Gaston finds out Frederica may be pregnant he realizes he must convince her to return to dry land before danger overcomes them all.

Wonderful end to a wonderful set of sexy books

The third book in Normandie’s Buccaneer trilogy is here! I loved the first two books — Rescued by the Buccaneer and Bound by the Buccaneer — so I was SO STOKED when I realized that the third book was out!

This is the end of Gaston and Freddie’s story. I have to say. I’m going to miss them.

If you haven’t read the first two books… you need to go do that. These are NOT standalone books and should be read in order.

Even though this is the end of their story…it was a wonderful end to the three books. Normandie did a wonderful job of tying up any loose ends from the previous books and didn’t leave it hanging. (Y’all know how much I hate to be left hanging…)

In this one, Gaston and Freddie have to deal with a whole new adventure. Parenthood. Gaston’s been down this road once before (it was mentioned in the first book, I believe…and is mentioned again in this book) but lost both his first wife and child before joining the pirate life. So, Gaston’s fully on board with becoming a parent again. In fact, I’d say that he was downright HAPPY about it.

Freddie on the other hand…she doesn’t take the news too well. Having really never thought about having children, she’s really freaked out by the idea of becoming a mother. How will she continue her life at sea with a baby?

I loved watching her journey from “What am I going to do I’m not prepared for this” to “I like being a mom”. It was a long journey, and it definitely had it’s ups and downs…but I loved it.

We got to see the battle with Captain Humphrey come full circle in this book. Remember him? He’s the nasty old pirate that started out the story (with having a kidnapped Freddie playing servant upon his ship and all). I won’t go into all that happens, but he gets his comeuppance.

Fun Fact: Since first starting this trilogy, I have been playing around with genealogy. I discovered that I’m related to a pirate. But… not just any pirate. Captain Henry Morgan (also known as Captain Morgan — yes, the one on the rum bottle) is my first cousin, ten times removed. I think that the knowledge that I have a little pirate in me made me love the book(s) more.

I thought this was a book to end the trilogy. Like I said, no loose ends were left (thank you, Normandie). Tamed by the Buccaneer was just as well written as Rescued and Bound. I loved the book, and I loved how it ended. I can’t wait to see what Normandie puts out next.

Tamed by the Buccaneer gets a very solid 10/10 from me, and a place (next to the previous two) on my favorites list.

TAMED BY THE BUCCANEER by Normandie Alleman is a story from the Stormy Night collection that is a combination of historical romance, delicious pirates, and love. Book 3 in the Pirates of the Jolie Rouge Series, this reads well as a standalone story and Ms. Alleman does a great job of offering up tidbits, as reference from the first two stories and just enough to get you to want to read those as well.

The story opens with Gaston cajoling Frederica to join him in a romp, as he is always randy before battle. What we quickly learn is that this couple (husband and wife) will soon be fighting one of their cruelest enemies in a long anticipated battle. Gaston is secure in his battle plans and Frederica is a nervous wreck.

Without giving away spoilers, as the story progresses, I found the character development to be well done. I enjoyed the relationship and the love between the couple, as well as their interactions with the other characters. There is a certain level of kink (BDSM) in the story that is well-blended into the erotic scenes as well as in the heads of the characters, and I absolutely loved the ménage a trois from Frederica's perspective, but you'll have to read the story to understand why. And well, PIRATES! Who doesn't love a good pirate love story?

Overall, I found this to be a well thought out story that has all the elements of fun storytelling in a historical romance. I found every aspect of it to be enjoyable and definitely recommend it.

Well done, for the first installment. This is only the first few chapters of the now popular serial books that charge per chapter. Not worth the investment. My advice, don't start!

this is a best seller?!
By Books are a uniquely portable magic
According to my Kindle if you remove the book cover, table of content, copy rights, acknowledgment exc., out of 154 pages you are left with mere 113 pages of actual story, out of which around 30-40 pages describe a single intimate scene full of "i OWN you" kind of BS and over done cliches. There is no relationship building up to that scene (they literary jump to bed on their second encounter without knowing anything about each other). There is little to no plot (apparently all that is saved for the sequel books) and they charge $8.00 for the print version...really???

Very Easy Read, Minimal Math, Maximal Education Value

This book is a collector's item as well as a gentile introduction to radio electronics for the intermediate to advanced hobbyist, amateur radio operator, or experimenter. The book is also a good text for a quick refresher on network analysis, transmission lines, and antennas although not a rigorous replacement for a more advanced book. The value is in the short, to the point chapters with attention paid on educating the reader without tedious mathematical manipulation. Complex numbers are introduced in a manor that the serious amateur radio operator can appreciate. The book begins with a brief introduction to the history of work contributing to the understanding of modern radio. Progression from component level electronics, progression to network analysis, transmission lines, and later antennas, all chapters meld together in a very well written easy to read text. As stated in the preface, the organization of the book is:

Part I: Electrical Networks
Part II: Transmission Lines
Part II: Radio Antennas
Part IV: Radio Transmitters

Don't count on this book as your only source of theory as you will note, from the first edition date (1962) there are no references to Smith Charts, bi-polar transistors, computers, electronics calculators. Hence, the utility of the book is to provide, primarily, a historic view of the state-of-the-art radio electronics at the time (1962). The book is a joy to read, and fun to remember how a slide-rule works. Incidentally, no slide rule is required and the discussion of slide rules does not detract from the remainder of the text.

This is an outstanding educational text for both those beguining their study of Electrical Engineering and those who what to go back and refresh the fundamentals of some topic. It is clearly written, provides concise well thought out explaination of the topic at hand. The author works hard to provide the understanding of only the mathmatics necessary and does not lose himself or the reader in mathematical proofs. The focus is to provide a empirical understanding of the physics. Extremely well done.
It's value does not age with time.
