GREAT HELP FOR MOC EXAM!

This book was a great companion to the Cuccurillo Review Book. It was extremely helpful in preparing for the MOC exam. While I found to Cuccurillo book to be very helpful as a review book, this book was, in many ways, more helpful because it helped me identify areas where I still had knowledge gaps. I did rent the book which helped to keep the cost down. In addition to the books, I also did the NYU home study Board Review Course. If I were to do it all again, I would not have done the review course and would have spent more time on the 2 books. The AAPMR MOC Practice test was also helpful in preparing for the exam.

Excellent review book!

This book has so many great questions that are relevant to daily rehab issues as well as an excellent board review. The chapters are well organized and have plenty of questions to help you study. I might purchase the electronic version so I can take it around the floors and do questions while I have free time. Deff purchase this book, its an excellent buy!

Not terrible, but not overly helpful. Good companion to Cucurillo's review.

Was hoping for better explanations in the answers. Most questions are verbatim from the Cucurillo review, but many answers do not have any further depth. Not a horrible book by any means, just could be improved. I suppose it's a little soon for a second edition.

Grade 7-10–In the sequel to Faerie Wars (Bloomsbury, 2003), trouble stirs again in the Faerie Realm. The Emperor is dead, and Prince Pyrgus has doubts about whether he is ready to rule. Machinations by evil Lord Hairstreak threaten to take that decision away; the Emperor's body disappears while lying in state and reappears as an animated zombie who disinherits Pyrgus in favor of his half brother, Comma. Pyrgus, his sister Princess Blue, Henry (a human teenager who has access to the Faerie Realm), and Mr. Fogarty (another human and Pyrgus's advisor) team up with the feral Forest Faerie, who are led by Nymph, another strong princess who comes across remarkably like Blue. As in the first volume, pacing and inventiveness offer a rollercoaster ride; unfortunately, characterization and plot are often thin. The subplot concerning Henry and his family problems in his (our) world is dropped completely, and he does little but feel useless and pine after Princess Blue. Blue is still a strong female character, but events are rarely shown through her eyes, making it difficult for readers to identify with her. Subplots that involve a wangaramas wyrm (a telekinetic parasite intent upon revolution) and Brimstone (a demonologist) and his continued dealings with Hael (Hell) are by far the most entertaining portions of the novel, but don't stand alone. Unfortunately, Lord Hairstreak, leader of the Faeries of the Night, has resurrected the Purple Emperor to denounce Pyrgus. Hairstreak, who seeks to control the Faerie realm, wants his malleable brother, Comma, on the throne instead. Once again, Henry Atherton finds himself transported back to the Faerie realm, where he helps Pyrgus and his sister, Holly Blue, defeat Hairstreak and his minions. There's plenty of humor as well as dangerous adventure--and the conclusion promises more to come. Sally Estes

Good but not great

The 2nd book of Faerie Wars was good. It furthered the series and answered some questions I had from book 1. It dragged in spots but (like many books) picked up toward the end. Most of the time it was a fast read. I am an adult and if I were younger like the child I was reading and discussing this with, my view would have been different. She loved this book. She was especially interested in the relationships that developed. There were more questions that came up but isn't that why we have another book? I am sure all the questions will be answered by the end of the series.

More adventure

This is the 2nd book of the series Faerie Wars. I actually liked this one better than the first. This book takes place mostly in the Faerie World. There we meet up with characters from the first book like Pyrgus, Henry, Mr. Fogarty, Blue, Hairstreak, Brimstone, etc. It picks up a couple weeks after the last one left off. Pyrgus is getting ready to become Emperor but he doesn't really want to. All of the sudden he finds out that he doesn't have to because his deceased father is back. From there it justs rolls with adventure for everyone.
I personally didn't have a problem with the abrupt ending. I know sequels sometimes do that and looking for to book 3 - Ruler of the Realm to clear things up.
